چکیده

Inspired to the work of Ma and Wu (Discrete Contin Dyn Syst 31:545–557, 2011) Climenhaga (Ergodic Theory 31(4):1163–1182, 2011), we introduce new notions topological pressure upper (lower) capacity a free semigroup action maps for finite potential functions by using Carathéodory–Pesin structure (C-P structure) with respect non-compact sets in this paper. Meanwhile, also give some properties these notions. Moreover, Bowen’s equation, characterize Hausdorff dimension certain sets, whose points have positive lower Lyapunov exponents satisfy so-called tempered contraction condition.

A Thermodynamic Definition of Topological Pressure for Non-compact Sets

We give a new definition of topological pressure for arbitrary (noncompact, non-invariant) Borel subsets of metric spaces. This new quantity is defined via a suitable variational principle, leading to an alternative definition of an equilibrium state. We study the properties of this new quantity and compare it with existing notions of topological pressure. We are particularly interested in the ...

A Variational Principle for Topological Pressure for Certain Non-compact Sets

Let (X, d) be a compact metric space, f : X 7→ X be a continuous map with the specification property, and φ : X 7→ R be a continuous function. We prove a variational principle for topological pressure (in the sense of Pesin and Pitskel) for non-compact sets of the form { x ∈ X : lim n→∞ 1 n n−1 ∑ i=0 φ(f (x)) = α } . Analogous results were previously known for topological entropy. As an applica...

Embedding the Bicyclic Semigroup into Countably Compact Topological Semigroups

We study algebraic and topological properties of topological semigroups containing a copy of the bicyclic semigroup C(p, q). We prove that each topological semigroup S with pseudocompact square contains no dense copy of C(p, q). On the other hand, we construct a consistent example of a Tychonov countably compact semigroup containing a copy of C(p, q). In this paper we study the structural prope...

Homotopy Actions by Topological Actions . Ii

A homotopy action of a group G on a space X is a homomorphism from G to the group HAUT(X) of homotopy classes of homotopy equivalences of X. George Cooke developed an 'obstruction theory to determine if a homotopy action is equivalent up to homotopy to a topological action. The question studied in this paper is: Given a diagram of spaces with homotopy actions of G and maps between them that are...

TOPOLOGICALLY STATIONARY LOCALLY COMPACT SEMIGROUP AND AMENABILITY

In this paper, we investigate the concept of topological stationary for locally compact semigroups. In [4], T. Mitchell proved that a semigroup S is right stationary if and only if m(S) has a left Invariant mean. In this case, the set of values ?(f) where ? runs over all left invariant means on m(S) coincides with the set of constants in the weak* closed convex hull of right translates of f. Th...
